cyanotype of plastic on translucent paper (installation) (2020)
variable size, cyanotype on tracing paper 400gr, white linen thread
“Aiming to disrupt our visually overloaded everyday life, the book and the installation of cyanotypes are meant to be experienced with a broader repertoire of our senses. Cyanotypes are made with a simple photographic technique that does not require any other accessories than emulsion, UV-light and a surface. These, made on translucent paper, become transparent and, unlike most two-dimensional works, turns the back of the image visible. Encouraging the viewer to walk inside the installation and interact with the book, with no other information than the objects technical origin, the works insist on slowing down the viewer’s attention and switching from merely receiving impressions to creating them themselves by starting to define its appearance.” - from exhibition text at KODE2, Bergen, 2020.
